Custom Retail Display Props
Props are what make a display feel composed rather than arranged. We design and fabricate plinths, risers, tables and full hero installations — built to be looked at, leaned on, moved by staff and shipped to another country, then knocked down and rebuilt on site.
Start a ProjectProps that do the visual work
A good prop changes how a product is read. A plinth lifts a small item to eye level and makes it read as precious; a stepped riser creates a landscape so a collection has a front, a middle and a back; an enclosing set piece gives a theme a place to happen. We design props for that specific job rather than buying a standard unit and hoping.
Because a prop is a physical object that ships, gets handled by installers and then by store staff, the engineering matters as much as the look. We design to standard freight dimensions, specify fixings that can be undone, and pre-assemble each module in the workshop so the first fit on site is the second time those parts have been together.
Engineering for shipping and public safety
Props destined for public areas are radiused at edges, capped or recessed at fixings, and weighted or fixed so they cannot be tipped by a shopper. Pieces that project into a circulation route are designed as a soft edge or a standoff rather than a corner at head height. Everything crated ships with an illustrated assembly manual and bagged, labelled fixings.

Custom Retail Display Props FAQ
What materials can custom retail display props be made from?
In practice we work in timber and plywood, acrylic and other transparent plastics, sheet and tubular metal, and composite cores skinned in a finish material. The choice follows the job: acrylic for light and colour, metal for slender structures and load, timber for warm tactile pieces that customers might touch.
Do props need to be flat-packed for shipping?
For anything shipped, yes. Props are designed to break down into modules that fit standard freight dimensions, with fixings bagged and labelled per module and an assembly manual included. Larger hero pieces are crated as knock-down sections. Every module is pre-assembled and test-fitted before it is packed.
Can you design a reusable prop system for a rolling programme?
Yes, and it is usually the better investment. We design a modular kit whose parts reconfigure into different seasonal looks, so a store running six campaigns a year replaces product and graphics rather than rebuilding the structure each time.
How are the props made safe for public areas?
Edges are radiused, corners are rounded, sharp fixings are capped or recessed, and freestanding pieces are weighted or fixed so they cannot tip when brushed. Where a piece projects into a circulation route it is designed to be a soft edge or a standoff rather than a corner at head height.
